With the success of our previous game, Snakes and Ramps, at bringing families together for an accessible gaming experience, Special Effect were keen to add another board game adaptation to their Eye Gaze Games platform. With our shared love of Mousetrap guiding the way, we set about designing and making Petal Pinchers, a game that can be controlled with your eyes, a mouse, a gamepad, a switch interface, a keyboard, and any combination of the above!
how to trap a bee
With the routes designed and building on the game we developed for Snakes and Ramps, all that was left to do was come up with lots of silly silly traps! Of course there was lots of other work to do to ensure a great gaming experience but coming up with ways of trapping the petal pinchers takes first prize in fun tasks.

Being a games and animation company, we love bringing our design and animation expertise to the games we create. We did our best to pack the game full of cute characterful critters, ready to pinch the petals right back from the petal pinching bees.

We don’t know about you, but our copies of Mousetrap were well-loved with various pieces superglued, Sellotaped or just plain missing! We hope Petal Pinchers will enable more players around the world to share in that unique joy of getting your sibling caught in a trap you’ve laid!
